Biomedical Engineer & CPO
He is CPO, since (1987) from Bundesfachschule für orthopädie technik (Germany) in
Amman.Then He got a special training at United Prosthetics Spaulding Rehab Hospital and VA
Medical Center (2001- 2002), Boston USA.
He got Biomedical Engineering Master Degree (Surrey University- UK) in Orthopedic
and Rehabilitation sub specialty (2005).
With an experience for 36 yrs. in public and private sector at the National and
International level.
Currently He is the President of the United Arab Society for Prosthetics & Orthotics
(UASPO). Managing Director for OBK center for P&O. With 20 yrs. in the Royal Medical
Services, plus 16 yrs. at private sector.
He did training and attended different congresses and events in several countries. He
founded the P&O National Society in Jordan in 2004, and prepared system for P&O
practicing profession in Jordan, through MOH 2016, He also founded the UASPO in
2013 with some of his colleagues, he was a general coordinator for more than 120
civil society institutions and international organizations to monitor the
implementation of the United Nations Convention on Persons with disabilities, he also
contributed to many bodies such as the WHO and H.I 2030 rehabilitation strategy and
the development of study curriculums for some regional universities for P&O, and he
accomplished many training tasks and workshops and prepared 3 international P&O
congresses in Jordan.
Al-Khattab contributed to many studies and projects in the field of rehabilitation,
special education, and training students and graduates locally and internationally. He
volunteered as consultant to many institutions and societies. He was a member of the
ISPO protocol committee, then he became ISPO Executive Board member. He was
also member of some organizations, and associations, then he became an executive
board member/president of some of them.
