After completion of his training, Dr Kamal rejoined the Bahrain Defense Force Royal Medical Services, and started the vascular surgery service. Almost simultaneously, he established the Endo-Vascular program, and performed many open, endovascular, and hybrid vascular procedures that were done for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain .
